Ten Best Features – Windows 10

Hello everyone, today we are going to explore something different, this is Windows 10. Since Microsoft claims that it’s the best Operating System yet and it’s more than just an OS, I thought I have to show you this.

Windows 10 is developed and released by Microsoft as part of the Windows NT family of Operating System and was officially unveiled in September 2014 following a brief demo at Build 2014. The first version of this OS entered a public beta testing process in October, leading up to its consumer lease on July 29, 2015.

I have been working on Windows 10 from last few months and I have pulled out ten of the very best features from it. So let’s start…

1: WINDOWS HELLO

They can guess your password but not your face.

Windows Hello is the password-free sign-in with your face or fingerprint. Login faster and more securely to your laptop, tablet, device, app, or even websites; you can even make in-app purchases.

Windows Hello logs you into your Windows devices in less than 2 seconds, 3x faster than a password. Use your camera to recognize your face or try your fingerprint reader – either way Windows Hello recognizes you instantly. You can always keep your PIN as a backup.

2: CORTANA

Your truly personal digital assistant.

Seems that Microsoft wanted to blend the functionality of Google’s voice-activated “OK Google” and Apple’s Siri personality and humor. Microsoft has managed to do the both with Cortana, the Artificially Intelligent digital assistant.

3: MICROSOFT EDGE

I believe all of you must be familiar with Internet Explorer however seems that the Internet Explorer is coming to an end.

Microsoft Edge is the built in browser, it’s pretty fast and seems to work pretty well.

It’s more than a browser.

With Microsoft Edge, you can write directly on Web and can share the notes with others.

4: WINDOWS STORE

Windows Store serves as a unified storefront for Windows 10 on all platforms, it’s the one-stop shop on your PC, tablet, phone and Xbox One. Easily find and acquire popular free and paid apps, desktop software, PC and Xbox games, films, TV programmers and the latest music.

5: WINDOWS INK

I would say, Windows Ink is the best new thing in Windows 10 Anniversary Update.

You can quickly access the Windows Ink Workspace with just a click of your digital pen to use Sticky Notes, Sketchpad and Screen Sketch. Naturally create, capture and edit ideas at the speed of thought within Office.

6: TRUSTED PLATFORM MODULE (TPM)

MICROSOFT HAS MADE IT MANDATORY for all Windows 10 PCs, smartphones and tablets to support the Trusted Platform Module 2.0 (TPM 2.0) standard for bolstered security.

Windows 10 operating system automatically initializes and takes ownership of the TPM. This means that in most cases, Microsoft recommends that you avoid configuring the TPM through the TPM management console, TPM.msc. There are a few exceptions, mostly related to resetting or performing a clean installation on a PC. For more information, see Clear all the keys from the TPM.

7: MOST COMPREHENSIVE SECURITY

As the most secure Windows yet, Windows 10 brings you built-in protection including anti-virus, firewall, Windows Defender and anti-phishing technologies. That means more security features, safer authentication and ongoing updates delivered for the supported lifetime of your device – all at no extra cost to you.

8: ACTION CENTER

The Action Center will keep you up to date with any notifications and quick changes to the settings. To access a Tablet mode, turn on Airplane Mode, check WiFi or Settings, you can simply click on the speech bubble at the bottom right of the screen. The speech bubble will turn while if you have any notifications.

The Tablet mode allows you to access all of the Windows 10 features in a design that is more reminiscent of Windows 8’s Tile format.

9: XBOX ON WINDOWS 10

Play great new Xbox games on Windows 10 in native 4K resolution. Stay connected to your gaming community with the Xbox app. And play where you want with in-home streaming and Xbox Play Anywhere.

Windows 10’s new Xbox app should feel deeply familiar to Xbox One fans: The center point is your Activity Feed, which is populated by your Xbox Live Friends’ activities, such as unlocking an achievement or launching a Twitch stream. The right side of the app lists your friends; selecting one offers options to view their game clips, invite them to a party, send an IM, and more. You can also view your own achievements, manage your profile, and more all right within the app. You can even stream your Xbox One games to a Windows 10 PC or tablet.

10: WINDOWS MAPS

Windows Maps delivers a single and consistent mapping experience across all your Windows devices. Whether you’re on your PC in the office, or using your Windows phone on the go, Maps offers you the features and tools you need to explore and navigate the world. This includes the best maps, aerial imagery, rich local search data, and voice guided navigation experiences from both Bing Maps and HERE maps, integrated together for the first time into a single app for Windows.

Apart from these features, Windows 10 has other major features like PowerShell 5, Hyper-V, New Command Prompt, etc…

I would say Windows 10 is so far very nice and stable. You should give it a go.

Hope this helps.
